Default Is it possible to use one airline credit card to pay off another and still acrue...

...airline miles? My son is involved in a rather expensive sport and we are looking for ways to maximize the use of credit card travel miles for travel to national tournaments. We just started using an airline credit card to pay for monthly bills and then just pay off the card every month to accumlate miles. What if another card from another airline were used periodically to pay that monthly balance off and then allow the card from the second airlines to accumulate miles-kind of a rotation of credit cards-does anyone know if the card companies allow this?
If not, does anyone have any suggestions for ways around this or a different angle that can be used to the same end?

You need to be careful as some airline CC won't award mileage for a cash transaction. I own American Airlines AAdavantage card and only accrue mileage via non-cash transactions. If I use the card to draw cash from an ATM they don't aware mileage. Paying off another credit card could be similar to drawing cash.

You have several choices here.

1) check the credit card application statement and it will tell you there.

2) you can call the credit card company and see yourself (they can most likely give you the best answer, not here)

3) you can try it and see what happens.

Usually balance transfers aren't counted as "mileage" dollars.
