You can do, but its not as clear cut as with bank charges.
In April 2006, the OFT made a ruling that £12 was a fair charge for credit card breaches. As a result, you can only claim back the difference between £12 and what you were actually charged.
However, most of the credit card companies then changed their fees to the maximum that they could charge, £12, so you can't claim these charges back.
The time period is 6 years however for claims, so you can claim for charges before the OFT ruling, when the charges were greater than £12.
