Default Is it possible for a US resident moving to Canada to get credit cards?

I have good credit history in the US and will be moving to Canada soon. Will I be able to get a credit card in Canada easily? I have a credit file in Canada but it's not as good (I opened only one store credit card when I first lived there). Will I be able to use my US credit history to get a Canadian bank issued credit cards?
