Expat leaving Dubai with credit card debts?

I will return to Germany after residing in Dubai for six years.
Im a german citizen but have a 2000 US$ debt on a credit card in Dubai.
I am struggleing to pay my debt off and I'm querious to know if it is possible for the credit card company to persue me in Germany for the money.
