Default Which credit/charge cards have the best and most rewarding points system?

I was thinking of getting a Marriott card so I can get hotel points and they have a list of merchandise that you can use your points for as well. Does anyone know or have a card that is better in terms of rewards?

I have the Chase MasterCard that gives me 5 points for every dollar spent at grocery stores, drugstores and gas stations and 1 point for every dollar spent elsewhere. Once you reach 5,000 points you can ask for a $50 check.I used to go for airline miles but now would just prefer cash back so I can spend it however way I want. The Chase Freedom card allows you to earn points for either money or vacations and merchandise.
