Default Gas, Credit Cards, Mortgages...where will it end???

Now, I don't consider myself in financial desperate straits, but like many other Americans, credit card debt and rising costs of everything, particularly gas, is really making ends meet a lot more difficult. We are refinancing our house to pay off some debt, and still, groceries are expected to rise another 4% next year. Cable rates, energy rates, gas rates...everything keeps going up and up and up and my resources aren't keeping up with it.

Foreclosures seem to be at a very high level, so I know there are a lot of folks a lot worse off than me. Yet, there appear to still be plenty of families who can afford multiple Disney World vacations a year and drive multiple Hummers.

Rhetorical, perhaps...but where is this going to end? Or is it just going to continue getting worse?
