The highest cash rebate you can get from any cash back credit card is 5%. Both the Citi Dividend Platinum Select Card and the Chase Cash Plus Rewards Visa pay 5% rebates on "everyday purchase". This is defined as purchases made at standalone supermarkets, gasoline stations and drugstores. You earn 1% rebates on other purchases. For both cards, you can earn up to $300 in annual rebates. The Blue Cash from American has a tiered rebate formula, but also pays 5% rebates on "everyday purchases". For annual spending below $6,500, you earn 1% and 0.5% rebates on "everyday purchases" and "other purchases" respectively. Once you cross the $6,500 threshold, you earn 5% and 1.5% respectively. The Bank of America Power Rewards is a reward card. However, you can use your points to exchange for cash rebates rather than rewards. Above a certain number of points, the rebate percentage is 2%. Hence, this card, is also a great combination to use with either the Citi Dividend Platinum Select Card or the Chase Cash Plus Rewards Card.Discover Platinum pays 5% rebates when you make purchases with merchant partners from their "Get More" program. They are constantly adding new partners so you have to be a memebr to get the full details. For anyone looking for a cash rebate credit card, either the Citi Dividend Platinum Select Card or the Chase Cash Plus Rewards Visa should be the first choice. Later, you can add either the Blue Cash or Power Rewards, combine them with the Citi or Chase cards and earn more than the standard 1% on "other purchases" (ie non supermarket, non-gasoline and non-drugstore purchases).
