Free terminal programs are placement programs designed to make money from the fees you usually get charged as a result of the "free machine" These programs usually have application/set-up fees and definately have an annual fee. These programs pay back the company for "giving" you the machine.

Once you decide to switch or go out of business, you will certainly pay a cancellation fee, usually around $350 - $800 and still have to give them back the terminal.

All in all.... look past the word "free" and see the true colors. Lease or buy your machine, ask for the best rates you can get, and get to selling.

You shouldn't have to spend time researching this, you should be out making sales for your business.
