Default Do I still have time go after someone for credit card fraud?

I was dating this person over the summer. Come to find out the person stole two credit cards from me. I figured out it was the person becasue the way the person was acting around me. So i asked the person about it and he deneied it! I knew it was him, but i wanted him to tell the truth. After I asked him i stopped talking to him. I got all my money back before i realized it was him. So my question is, if i know for sure who the person is should i report him even if it happend in the summer of 2007? IF so what do i have to do? What things to i need?

Reporting Credit Card Fraud

If you lose or have had your credit card stolen, you should immediately report it to your card issuer. Once you report the incident, you are no longer responsible for unauthorized charges made on your card.

In the US, credit card fraud can be reported to the Federal Trade Commission (FTC) and to local and regional authorities. It is the standing policy of the FTC not to investigate reports where the value of fraud does not exceed $2000. Local law enforcement may or may not further investigate a credit card fraud, depending on the amount, type of fraud, and where the fraud originated from.

If you are a merchant and you suspect orders have been placed for your products/services using stolen credit card information you will need to contact VISA/MC/AMEX/DISCOVER to obtain the issuing bank's phone number then call the bank to report that you suspect that their customer's credit card information has been stolen.

You said, "I got all my money back before i realized it was him"

If you got your money back, the courts won't do anything for you. Their job is to settle disputes. A judge can't help you if your situation is settled already, but your just sour because of being tricked and lied to.

Of course you should report him!! If not, he may go after someone else. As far as what you need, some kind of proof that it was him would be nice!!
